What is Public Health AmeriCorps?

AmeriCorps and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention joined forces to launch Public Health AmeriCorps and support the recruitment, training, and development of the next generation of public health leaders who will be ready to respond to the nation’s public health needs.

What do we do?

L.A. Works’ AmeriCorps Public Health program aims to help meet public health needs of local communities by providing needed capacity and support in state and local public health settings and advancing more equitable health outcomes for communities who are currently or historically underserved. Members will be placed at one of our nonprofit host sites to work on a public health initiative serving their local community.
